Sorry, been a bit busy this week... and BAD

Oh dear. It really hasn't been a good week foodwise. I have stuffed my face with lots of things that it wasn't strictly necessary to eat.

Examples include:
2 chocolate brownies yesterday whilst working from home
Fish pie (with lots of butter etc. in it)
a whole bag of blueberry yoghurt covered raisins which was about 800 calories
A lot of Quality Street
Too much bread and butter

All this, alongside normal food. I am very, very naughty. And we are going to Emma's house for tea tonight and she will have cooked something lovely. She says she is going to make chocolate brownies too. Hurrah!

And then of course, it is the weekend, which will no doubt be very naughty too.

Good points of this week: went to line dancing and the gym and will go again today. Er, that's it.

Naughty weekends

Oops.

I can't remember everything that I ate, but it involved lots of bread and butter.
The things that I can remember are:
chocolate brownie (eek)
about half a box of quality steet (eek)
Sausage and mash
Pizza (eek)
Feta and spinach pasta
Lemon cheesecake (eek)
Spiced currant bun with icing on (eek)
Greek salad

So all in all, not very good really.

Must have an angelic week.

Bad with chocolates

Porridge with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, soya milk
Apple
Satsuma x2
Veg and pesto sandwich
tin of vegetable balti
yoghurt
piece bread with mushroom pate
Sweet potato dhal with brown rice
6 Quality Street.

And I don't even like quality street.

Angelic again!

Banana smoothie
Sandwich with houmous and grated carrot
Two satsumas
Quorn and flageolet bean casserole with jacket potato and cauliflower
Four squares G&B Expresso

Not holding out lots of hope for a good weekend, but I will try my very best!

Bloody Maltesers

Quite angelic, apart from Malteser attack in the cinema.

Oh, and a bottle of beer.

Banana
2 satsumas
Sandwich with houmous and grated carrot
Half a large bag of maltesers
Lots of veggie sushi
Bottle of beer

Exercise was swimming and walking.

Wednesdays are not a good day

Porridge with raisins, nuts, seeds, yog, soya milk
Apple
Pear
Banana
Left over kedgeree
Small cheese salad sandwich
Yoghurt
Piece of toast with butter
Crumpet with butter
1 locket

I didn't need to eat the last 3 items, but I got home at 10pm after my class and felt like I should eat something.

And no exercise.

Angelic day two

Banana soy smoothie
2 satsumas
Homous and grated carrot sandwich
Fresh apple, pear and ginger juice
Pasta with spicy aubergine and tomato sauce

And line dancing! And walking!

Line Dancing is the way forward

Emma and I went to line dancing yesterday lunchtime and it's brilliant. It's very silly, lots of people are worse at it than we are, and it's very easy to get the hang of. I think it's also very good for toning legs and bums. They do a lot of work. And the music is hilarious.

Food:
Porridge with blubes, yog, nuts and seeds
Pear
Apple
Cheese salad with brown rice
1 sweet
1 piece of bread and butter

Kedgeree
2 chocolatesBut that box is all gone now and I think M has hidden the other box.

Can't wait for next weeks line dancing class. I wonder if we'll add to our repertoire of the 'Electric Slide', 'Californian Freise' and '123 Kick'?

Oops, chocolate happened

I'm not having an epiphany.

Banana and blueberry smoothie
1 piece of toast with hazlenut butter and jam
Apple
Pear
Trout with salad and brown rice
Yoghurt
3 chocolates
Tofu and veg stir fry with noodles (rather a large portion)

And did a dance aerobics class, but wasn't very energetic in it. Will try harder at line dancing today.

Angelic!

I've had an epiphany. After seeing myself in the Next changing rooms - looking like I am covered in cellulite, spotty and wrinkly - I have lots of motivation to be saintly to combat the toxins etc.

Porridge with soy milk, almonds, pumpkin and sunflower seeds
Jacket potato with beans
2 satsumas
Spinach and chickpea casserole
Fresh apple and carrot juice

Plus a one-hour dance aerobics class, and walking for 30 minutes.

Spots and cellulite, get ready to be flushed away by goodness!

I have no clue what I ate this weekend.

I just can't seem to remember what I had to eat. I don't think it was too bad though. I definitely didn't have any booze - hurrah!
And evening meals were trout with oven baked sliced potatoes and broccoli and roasted butternut squash with coconut and coriander sauce with brown rice. So those two meal were OK, although there was too much olive oil involved.
I had two chocolates.
One breakfast was half a banana on toast with cinnamon and honey and the other half of the banana with yoghurt, seeds and nuts.
The other breakfast was two pieces of toast with blueberry jam and hazlenut butter. I made home made juice twice, one of orange and the other grape and apple.
One lunch was 2 pieces toast with a tin of sardines on, followed by two crumpets with cheese.
The other lunch I can't remember. And I had hot chocolate and a flapjack whilst deciding whether to spend £750 on a carpet or not. We said yes in the end. Yikes.

A very floppy day

I felt very pathetic and not capable of much yesterday. I needed comfort food.

Porridge with nuts, seeds, yog, soya milk, dried fruit
Salad of kidney beans, tuna, cucumber, olives, tomato and aduki bean sprouts
Apple
3 slices of chili bread with butter (although they are small)
Beetroot soup with bread

So tons of bread, but not a lot else.

Then I lay on the sofa and whimpered for a while.

Not bad

Porridge with pumpkin and sunflower seeds, maple syrup, almonds and figs
Orange juice
2 green teas
Teeny portion of veg mousakka
2 satsumas
Banana
Veggie burger in a bun, potato wedges, peas
Fresh mango, apple and pear juice

And lots of walking.

However, I made a chocolate cheesecake last night. I have two bits in the fridge for Bex and my afternoon tea. Then friends are coming round tonight for champagne, pizza and cheesecake! Eeek!

Late nights = bad food

I had a 3 hour class last night and the trains were delayed which means I didn't get home until 10.15. I had a sandwich before the class and didn't really need any more food after, but I did anyway. Bah.

Porridge with nuts, seeds, yog, soya milk, dried fruit
Glass apple juice
leftover squash pasta (even nicer the next day)
Edam and tomato sandwich
1 minstrel (a girl in the class had them)
Random selection of things on a plate - polish sausage, 1 gherkin, 1 tomato, 5 olives, 3 pieces of meditterranean loaf with mushroom pate on.

Very strange supper and probably not a great idea to munch on just before bed.

Bleurgh

Had two glasses of red wine last night and feel TERRIBLE today. Drinking on school nights is such a bad idea.

Banana smoothie
2 toast and marmite
2 satsumas
Teeny portion of veg mousakka
Veg and noodle laksa
2 large glasses red wine

Didn't manage any proper exercise, just walking.

I've lost 2lb this week

Although I think it's all hair, as I have new shorter hair.

Will measure tomorrow I think.

Half a melon
Glass apple juice
toast and hazlenut butter with bluberry jam
3 manky buffet sandwiches
apple
pear
A few moutfuls of tofu and pepper stir fry left over from the night before
pasta with roast squash, red onion, courgettes, tomatoes and pine nuts (which was yum, although a tad heavy on the carbs and I did put a load of parmesan cheese on it). I'll put the recipe up if anyone wants it as it was so nice.

I'm going to spend a few minutes choosing what I want to eat at Le Gallois now.

A Diet Incentive

... our day out!

Luckily, I had a good start yesterday.

Banana
2 satsumas
Cheese and chutney sandwich
6 dates
Banana smoothie
Small portion of veg moussaka
2 green teas
Lots of water

Plus swimming and walking.

Monday Munch

Started well - sleeping late is great as you have to grab a piece of fruit for breakfast instead of eating a HUGE bowl of porridge!

2 Satusmas
2 green teas
Three-bean soup
Granary roll
8 dried figs
Spaghetti with lemon, parmesan and peas
4 teeny squares of Green and Blacks

Black coffee

Doesn't look too bad written down but that pasta dish was far from healthy, and I didn't really need that chocolate either!

Bah! I'll never be thin and beautiful!

I was doing really well until last night...

I can't remember in detail, but I had a reasonably good weekend. The only bad things I ate were extra chocolates (about 12 over 3 days), an English muffin with mushroom pate on, and my dinner was very large on Sunday, with extra celeriac and potato mash. I didn't drink, but I did no exercise whatsoever either. I only went out of the house once all weekend, and that was only to go to the cinema (went to see The Aviator, which was good, but SO long). I was in essay hell the rest of the time.

But, yesterday, I was home alone as M working away and ate the whole of a bottom layer of a box of chocolates! Even the strawberry fondant. What's that all about then?

Must do better.

Away for the weekend...

So it wasn't good at all. I'll try and remember what I ate in total. I will bold all the bad stuff to shock myself into diet action!

Friday
Strawberry smoothie
Piece of toast and marmite
Cauliflower macaroni cheese
A few bits of chocolate
Three glasses champagne
Two glasses red wine
Kettle chips and dips

Chestnut and pastry thingy, baked potato, ratatouille, broccoli
Mince-pie tart thingy with cream (!!!!)

Saturday
2 toast and marmite
Orange juice
Banana
Satsuma
Jacket potato with beans and cheese
Mince-pie tart thingy with cream (!!!!)
Gin and tonic
More kettle chips and dips

Lentil Shepherd's pie, roasted sweet potatoes, mixed salad
Glass of red
Glass of white

Sunday
2 toast and marmite
Glass of red wine
Big veggie stir fry, potato wedges
Mince-pie tart thingy with cream (!!!!)
Glass of white wine

Leek and potato soup
Granary roll

However, did a half-hour swim on Friday, a five-mile hike on Saturday and a 40-minute walk on Sunday, so not totally lazy.

Ho-hum. Must do better today!

Morning All

Not bad, but too much Polish sausage. I'll be glad when it's gone.

2 pieces wholemeal toast with peanut butter and blueberry jam
Glass blackcurrant and apple juice (from M&S - lush, but expensive)
Satsuma
Rest of the super healthy salad
Apple
Satsuma
Salmon, new potatoes, spinach and carrots
1 chocolate
3 pieces Polish sausage (oops)

I think I need more veg. Will try a can of V8 I think.

Now comes the real test, THE WEEKEND!

Thursday, January 06, 2005

Lots of Veggies and Fruit

2 seeded toast with jam
Glass of orange juice
Tofu and sweet potato curry
2 satsumas
Stuffed pepper with sweet potato wedges
Glass of red wine (medicinal - for January blues)
2 squares of Green and Blacks dark choc (see above)

My new theory is that I'm going to be superhealthy all day, then have one teeny treat every night. (OK, last night, I had two teeny treats!)

Exercise was 45 minutes swimming, plus 30 minutes brisk walking.

Depressing

M and I weighed and measured ourselves last night. We are both normous, both in weight and size. I actually shocked myself. I am massive, if in proportion. I am also bigger then M in every way apart from waist measurment.

Food not bad (apart from the Polish sausage)
2 pieces wholemeal toast with peanut butter and blueberry jam
glass apple and raspberry juice
satsuma
Leftover broccoli and veg casserole with brown rice
Apple
Small piece Polish sausage
Super healthy salad - wild rice, brown rice, nori seafood flakes, lime, tamari, olive oil, red pepper, green beans, chickpeas, toasted seseme, pumpkin and sunflower seeds. Yum - but ate far too much of it.
1 chocolate.

I've been TERRIBLE

That's all I'm saying. Starting again today after weighing myself and finding that I've put on 5lbs over Christmas. Gross!

So far so good

Porridge with nuts, seeds, dried fruit, soya milk
Satsuma
Tuna and canellini bean salad
Apple
Broccoli booster veg casserole with brown rice
1 chocolate
Small piece of Polish sausage

So on track apart from the sausage.

Drank all the water and went to the gym for an hour.

Not sure about how well I'll do today. Seem to be starving all the time already.

New Year, New Me!

Yes, same old, same old. But this year, I don't want to lose weight! That's a first. I just want to stay as I am, keep up the exercise and get maximum nutrition from my diet.

Here are my healthy promises:
1. Have a daily juice or smoothie
2. Walk for at least 30 minutes every day
3. Don't get drunk
4. Avoid dairy products - try to only have them on weekends
5. Do structured exercise at least twice a week

And that's it. I'm sure I can manage to keep those up.

Happy New Healthy Year to everyone.

How bad will it be?

I am going to Weigh this lunchtime. And I bet it's bad. I went to Poland for new year and the food (and drink) in Poland is very, very fattening. Fried potatoes, potato pancakes, apple cake, cherry vodka, SAUSAGES.

Eek.

I haven't worked out a plan yet. What's everyone else doing?
