March challenge

Right, here we go. Am doing a whole of March challenge to get back on track! But I'm not giving up anything, because that makes me feel deprived. Instead, for the 31 days of March, I will do the following every single day.

Exercise for at least 30 minutes, not including walking
Do 100 stomach crunches
Drink 3 litres of water
Have a juice or smoothie, home-made unless I am away for weekend
Eat eight portions of fruit and veg

Also, once a week I will:
Exfoliate and moisturise body
Have a sauna and steam room
Do face masks/eyebrows/manicure/pedicure

I think that's enough to be getting on with...

Weekend confessions

OMG! Well, food wasn't too bad (although I've just realised that I ate pizza every single day!), but boozing was appalling!

Friday
Veg curry, rice and mini nan bread
2 slices garlic bread with cheese
3/4 v thin veggie pizza
2 glasses wine; 5 pints (!)
Exercise challenge day 5/15: 30 minutes swimming, 1.5 miles walking

Saturday
1 toast, beans, 2 veggie sausage, potato waffle
2 pints Hoegaarden
1 bottle ale
1 glass wine

2 vine leaves
Handful of Kettle Chips
1/2 veggie pizza

Sunday
3 toast and marmite
Lentil shepherd's pie with peas and broccoli
2 chocolate brownies
Another 1/2 veggie pizza!

Weekend exercise was walking to pub and back, and a nice long walk in the park on Sunday.

Crikey, better sort myself out this week!

Getting Better

Oh, I'm really proud of myself this week - have been semi-good for most of it, and done loads of exercise too!

Yesterday I ate:
Banana smoothie
1 w'meal pitta with houmous, salad, falafel
W'meal spaghetti with slow-roasted tomatoes and avocado

Exercise challenge day 4/15: Legs, Bums and Tums class, plus 3 miles walking.

And I've been swimming this morning, so exercise target for the week has been achieved!

Must try my best to keep it up over the weekend, but it's going to be difficult. Going out for meal and then to a bar tonight, then having friends who really like food coming to stay on Saturday - eek!

Parents

My parents have been staying for the last 4 days and we have been decorating the hall, which now looks very nice. Only the carpet to put down now. However, having the parents down doesn't make for good eating habits. And drinking habits.

Friday evening
tons of wine and beer
Smoked haddock with flageolet beans, broccoli and brown rice

Saturday
ham, cheese, pate, bread and salad for lunch
cornish pastie and chips and mushy peas for tea
ten tons of beer

Sunday
can't remember what we had for lunch
steak and kidney pudding with mash
Treacle sponge and custard
Lots of red wine

Monday
Baked potato with chilli and cheese
Lamb curry, dahl, popadums, samosas, onion bahjees, brown rice
Beer and wine, then went to the pub

Tuesday
Tagliatelle with walnuts and butter nut squash
Smoked salmon
Bacon and spinach risotto
Chocolate almond cake
white wine, red wine, beer

Oh Christ.

Aaaaarrrrggghh!

I have put on so much weight, it is quite unbelievable. Must cut down on portion sizes ASAP! This is a diet emergency.

Yesterday's food:
Banana
Welsh cake (was mentally prepared to avoid biscuits in meeting, but wasn't ready to fight the mighty Welsh cake)
2 x wholemeal pitta with houmous, falafel and salad
Lentil and veg curry
Another wholemeal pitta
3 teeny squares G&B

Exercise challenge day 2/15:
30 minutes cross trainer; 15 minutes swimming; 3 miles walking

Not great but not bad

1.5 toast with marmite (didn't have time to finish two pieces!)
Banana
Bean and smoked tofu casserole
Lentil and veg curry
1 slice bread
2 digestive biscuits. Gah!
1 jaffa cake

Exercise challenge day 1/15: Legs, Bums and Tums class, plus 1.5 miles walking.

Must lose the biscuits tonight - v bad!

The 15-day fitness challenge

Time for drastic action.

Starting from today, for three weeks, I am doing exercise every day on week days. So that's 15 activities between now and 11th March - eeek!

I will also be good with food - should be easyish as I did a very healthy food shop on Friday.

Wish me luck!

Is Everyone OK?

It's all very quiet on here. I hope everyone is OK.

I am OK, if fat. I had such a bad weekend that I didn't want to face the music and blog. I had ten (yes 10) cakes over the weekend. 5 frangipanis, 1 chocolate brownie, 1 chocolate mousse, 1 chocolate and raisin flapjack and 2 welsh cakes. Yikes.

So, in yet another effort to become thin and beautiful, I have purchased 2 books which Mr Amazon delivered today. They are (don't laugh):
Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin', which includes the amazing weight loss mind control CD (so I can get thinner whilst I'm snoozing on the sofa being hypnotised).
and
'Bodydoctor: In 6 weeks take 5 inches off your waist, lose a stone, double your fitness'. It has the tag line 'Trust me, I'm the Bodydoctor'.

Somehow, this makes me really, really not trust him (I presume it's a man). So I'm sure that these two books will solve all my diet and fitness problems. I love reading two self help books with conflicting advice. It makes me feel very Bridget Jones.
