I can't even begin to think about what I ate yesterday

But it involved two lots of cake and a Chinese takeaway. Ouch.

Today I am armed with fruit and feeling more positive. And actually looking forward to doing some exercise.

Exercisemungous!

Tuesday was quite good. However, as I type this (at 9.30am) I am tucking into a blueberry muffin (office birthday).

2 toast with blueberry jam
Pasta with leeks, chard and pesto
3 little satsumas
2 suffed vine leaves, 2 green olives
Pasta with mushrooms, artichokes, pesto (can you tell I haven't been shopping???)
Mini glass of wine
2 mini eggs

Lots of tea and lots of water

Exercise was:
1.5 miles walking to train
PLUS
1 hour legs, bums and tums class
PLUS
30 minutes walking the dog

Sadly, my little doggie is on heat so no walking her for two whole weeks. Will have to so something else to make up for it.

Minging Monday

I had one of those days yesterday where I just felt like the most minging pigdog ever. I just felt disgusted by my self every time I caught a glance in the mirror.

Our local sports centre re-opened yesterday after being closed for refurbishment for six months. So I've found some fitness classes I can go to while Dave is at work, which should help with the flab-fighting.

This morning I got up at 6am so I could walk the dog, walk to the station and get to work early so I could fit in an aerobics class at lunch time. Now that is commitment.

Yesterday's food was OK.

2 toast with blueberry jam
Mixed salad
1/2 flapjack
Pasta with leeks, chard and pesto
2 mini eggs

Exercise was 3 miles walking.

Could do better

Well, the weekend wasn't exactly fantastic. However, got lots of fruit and veg in, didn't have much booze and did lots of walking.

Friday
2 toast and jam
Quorn bolognaise
Apple
Orange
Bit of Al's birthday cake
Bottle of beer

Lentil chilli with potato wedges and cheese

Exercise was 1.5 miles walking, plus mowing the lawn (which is bloody hard work with my enormomower!)

Saturday
Toast with banana, honey and cinnamon
Grapefruit Juice
Chips (eek!)
Few mini Easter eggs
Veg dhansak, aloo saag, matar paneer, 1/4 nan bread
1/2 bottle beer

Exercise was 2 hours walking, plus cleaning for an hour (does that count??)

Sunday
2 veggie sausage, beans, 1 toast, mushrooms
Leek, potato and butterbean soup
1 slice bread
Little almond tart thing
Nibbly bits (bread, olives, stuffed vine leaves, goats cheese, crackers)
2 glasses wine

Challenge Day 1

Well, not too bad a start.

Banana, kiwi, soy and honey smoothie
2 toast with marmite
Orange
Slice of cake (I know, I know – but it was Al’s birthday and he wanted to share it with us!)
Lentil shepherd’s pie
Apple
Quorn bolognaise and salad
Strawberries and a scoop of ice cream
Lots of water, lots of green tea

Exercise for the day was 3 miles walking to and from train station. Planning lots of dog-walking on the weekend, so that should burn off quite a few calories.

Weekends are not good for healthy eating

Ok, let's write it all down and shock myself into being better this week!

Saturday
Porridge with soy milk, almonds, sunflower seeds, maple syrup
Smoothie (banana, pear, orange juice)
Pasta with asparagus sauce and veggies
(Then it all went wrong as my mum turned up with a huge box of chocolate cakes)
2 'rocky road' naughty chocolate squares
Asparagus dipped in a teeny bit of mayo
Huge stir fry with rice noodles and miso honey sauce
Pear poached in red wine
Glass of beer

Exercise was an hour and a quarter leaping about with the dog, plus cleaned the house, dug compost through the soil in the garden, cut plants back and mowed the lawn.

Sunday
Let's just call this a day off!

Mr Meep made me a bonkersly nice but very naughty breakfast...
Five pancakes with banana, chocolate and maple syrup
Banana and kiwi soy smoothie

Went round to Bex's house for the most lovely meal ever...
Lots of nice nibbly things (olives, marinated mushoroms, griddled aubergines, cheesey bite things)
Mushroom, hazelnut and cheese parcels with red pepper sauce
Probably the loveliest desert ever - white chocolate and Bailey's cheesecake with raspberries
1 glass white wine

After the big lunch, the evening was just nibbly bits...
Slice of brown bread
Home-made houmous
Few olives
Glass of white wine

Exercise was just an hour and a quarter wombling about with Blod in the park.

I've turned a corner

Things are improving. I'm sick of feeling rubbish and only I can control what I eat!

Fruit smoothie (banana, orange, pear)
2 satsumas
Goats cheese and red onion marmalade open sandwich
About five chunky chips
2 elderflower presses
Butternut squash, coconut and lemongrass soup
Big tofu stir-fry and noodles
Lots of water and tea

Exercise was one hour of walking.

This is so embarrassing

I wasn't going to post this, as yesterday was a bad, bad day.

Good start...
Wholemeal toast (home-made bread, no nasties) with marmite
Fresh grapefruit juice

Not too bad lunch...
Olive bread with brie (tiny bit), apple chutney and salad
2 satsumas
Apple

Then it all went wrong...
Cadbury's Creme Egg (gah!)
2 fingers of a Kit Kat (double gah!)
Glass of wine
Veggie burger and...chips (Oh dear)

Walked the dog for 40 minutes, plus walked to train 1.5 miles.

But all in all, a bit of a disaster. In my defence, the burger and chips was a necessary evil. Went out for food with some friends to a place I've been to a zillion times before - always have the veggie noodles (healthy and yummy), but the buggers have changed the menu. So the only veggie things were omlette and chips (don't do eggs) or the said burger. Grrrrr.

It all went a bit Pete Tong...

Monday was appalling. I'm almost too embarassed to post my scoffage.

Fresh orange juice
2 crumpets with jam
Piece of shortbread
Cheese and leek baguette
Crisps

Satsuma
Lentil and root veg casserole
Chocolate brownie
Lots of water and green tea

Exercise was 3 miles walking.

Hurumph - must do better.

Not bad for a weekend

Hmmmmm...
Well, the weekend was not fantastic, but it wasn't too unhealthy either.
(Bad stuff in bold)

Friday
Fresh orange juice
Porridge with figs, sunflower seeds, maple syrup
Cheese and pickle baguette with handful of chips (pub lunch - it was either that or lasagne and chips)
2 apples
African sweet potato stew with cous cous
P&J energise smoothie
Lots of tea and water
Exercise: 1 hour dog walking, 1/2 hour walk home from train

Saturday
2 crumpets with blueberry jam
Smoothie (soy milk, banana, mango, kiwi)
African sweet potato stew with cous cous
Welsh cake
Ciabatta bread and houmous
Roasted tomato tart with avocado and sweet potato salad
Chocolate brownie
2 glasses pink wine

Lots of tea and water
Exercise: 1 hour dog walking on the beach

Sunday
Smoothie (soy milk, banana, mango, kiwi)
3 mini pastries - eeek!
Tofu sausage, peas, brocolli, pesto mash
Some dark choc
Nibbly bits: olive bread, houmous, avocado, goats cheese, olives
1 glass wine
Exercise: 1 hour dog walking in the park

Need to do some kind of 'structured' exercise like an aerobics class, but none at work for three weeks and local sports centre closed for refurb.

Bugger.
