We Will Be Thin and Beautiful

Usual weekend trauma

I made a lovely strawberry mascarpone tart and it was lush. I ate too much of it. I also ate a pizza, 3 cans of stella, 2 bottles of wine, some cheese, rather a lot of bread and lots of other very naughty things.

However, last week I did the grand total of 108,900 steps! Wow! I am going to aim to do 120,000 this week. Lots and lots of walking.

I am trying a different mental approach this week. I was writing down yesterday why I wanted to be thin and the answers I got were: to wear nice clothes, to have more energy, to feel more confident and to have more sex. However, I then thought why is being overweight stopping me being like this. So instead I am going to wear nice clothes anyway, have more energy by sleeping, exercising and eating well, feel more confident by practising at feeling confident and have more sex by having more sex. And then, maybe as a by product I will get thinner. Whaddya reckon? Or am I off on another psychobabble tangent? I will let you know how it goes.

It is M's birthday tomorrow and we are going out for dinner to a Greek restaurant and he wants me to make him a cake. Bugger.

I think your new philosophy is fab. And by focusing on these positive things rather than thinking about losing weight all the time, you'll feel much more optimistic and weight loss will be a very pleasant side effect.

Don't worry about M's birthday - you can wear a fabulous outfit, make healthy choices in the restaurant, enjoy guilt-free cake because of all the walking you're doing, and have a big old birthday bonk too!
